Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' the first artist of female gender with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. On the 21st of October, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP under the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she began to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012, with the debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes, in Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her work on Rihanna reference. The announcement of her decision to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later released the song as a single by herself to her debut album. The track was released with a video posted on YouTube 20 February 2019 has been watched over 3 million times in the first seven days. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
